First-Timer's Guide — What to Expect

Bring nitrile gloves. The bins contain broken glass, unsorted clothing, dirty items, and occasionally sharp edges. Goodwill recommends gloves. Buy a box of disposable nitriles at any dollar store beforehand — it's a $1 investment that matters.

Items must be purchased within the hour. You cannot hold a cart, leave, and return. All items in your cart must be paid for within the hour or they're returned to the bins. Plan your visit accordingly.

All sales are final. No returns, no exchanges. Inspect items as thoroughly as you can in the bin. For electronics, there's no guaranteed way to test them on-site — buy electrical items with the understanding some won't work.

Is a second Cincinnati Goodwill Outlet really opening at Colerain?
Yes — Cincinnati Goodwill has announced a "new Goodwill Colerain Outlet coming soon." As of May 2025 no opening date has been published. Monitor cincinnatigoodwill.org/shop for the announcement. When it opens, the Colerain location will be significantly closer to the western NKY corridor (Petersburg, Hebron, Florence).
What is the bin rotation schedule?
Bins rotate multiple times throughout the day — the exact schedule is not published and varies by donation volume and staffing. The best strategy: ask a staff member when you arrive when the next rotation is expected. The store gets noticeably more crowded and competitive right around rotation time as regulars time their visits to the fresh rollout.
Can I bring my kids?
